iPhone 5 unveiling at WWDC
As you may recall the current iteration of Apple’s iPhone, the iPhone 4s, broke away from tradition and was unveiled in October of last year. All other versions of the iPhone have had a summer unveiling, going as far back to the original iPhone in 2007. Well it looks like the iPhone 5 may be back on track as new reports suggest. According to Daiwa Securities-via the Commercial Times-which claims that the next iPhone will receive the same WWDC (world wide developer conference) unveiling as the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4. This report comes as no surprise to analyst who never expected Apple to make the October iPhone event a permanent alteration. As many reports circulating at the time claimed that the October event was a last minute decision because the company needed to perfect the iPhone 5, which was inevitably postponed at the last minute and substituted with the iPhone 4S. The icing on the cake comes from a leaked calendar of San Francisco’s Moscone Center, which is where Apple holds WWDC, which has the dates 6/11/12-6/15/12 listed as “Corporate Meeting.” Now seeing as how “Corporate Meeting” is the name Apple typically uses for its events suggest this may just be the real deal folks.
